E finalmente, Parabens para mim e para o meu marido pelo nosso segundo aniversario de casamento. Passamos um noite muito romantica em Cairns. 2 anos.. Parece que foi ontem!

Ola a todos.

Temos andado com imenso trabalho e e' por isso que nao tenho dito nada. No mes passado encontrei-me, pela primeira vez, com uma rapariga portuguesa que vive aqui em Port Douglas. Foi muito fixe :) e' bom falar portugues! Eu organizei um bacalhauzinho em Sydney e na semana passada voltamos a encontrarmo-nos para eu dar umas postinhas a Sofia para ela fazer no Natal! :) Falando em Natal, anteontem fizemos a nossa arvore de Natal, esta linda como sempre.

Em relacao ao meu novo trabalho, esta tudo a correr bem. Durante as horas que la estou trabalho a serio mas saio sempre por volta das 5 - 5.30 e comeco por volta das 9. Passo a maior parte do tempo a inspeccionar os quartos e o resto no escritorio a tratar de papelada. Ta-se bem.. (Ja nao dizia isto ha tanto tempo!!)

O David chega hoje a noite de Brisbane, foi la a um campeonato de golfe. So 2 dias mas ja estou com saudades.

E finalmente, queremos dar os parabens a Claudia e ao Joao pelo nascimento do Diogo! Parabens primos.. Estamos muito contentes por voces! :)

Hi everyone, We've been very busy at work that's why we haven't said anything for a while. Last month I met up with a girl from Portugal that lives here in Port Douglas. It was very nice! It's good to speak portuguese! I organized some cod from Sydney and last week gave some to Sofia for her to cook for Christmas! :) Talking about Christmas, the day before yesterday we put our Christmas Tree up. Looks beautiful as usual.

In regards to my new job everything is alright. During the time I'm there I'm very busy but I always finish by 5 - 5.30 and I don't start until 9. I spend most of my time inspecting rooms and the rest doing some paperwork in the office.

David arrives from Brisbane tonight, he went there for some golf championship. It was only 2 days but i miss him already.

And finally, congratulations to Claudia and Joao for the arrival of baby Diogo! We're very happy for you! :)

Novidades! News!

Ola a todos!

Aqui em Port Douglas esta tudo bem. O Andrew, a Tanya e a Tara estiveram ca de ferias uma semana e foi optimo ve-los e passar algum tempo juntos.

Entretanto, eu tenho andado bastante ocupada. Para a semana vou por aparelho nos dentes.. Eh Eh.. De volta a adolescencia! Estava mesmo a precisar, cada vez estao piores e a tendencia era para piorar devido ao meu maxilar cheio de artrite e aos dentes do siso. A semana passada fui tirar um dente para criar espaco e para deixar o ultimo dos meus dentes do siso romper. Devo ter o aparelho por pelo menos 2 anos, transparentes em cima e metalicos em baixo! Estou muito ansiosa. Preocupada com os 2 anos que se avizinham mas mal posso esperar para ver o resultado final :)

Mas ha mais novidades! Vou mudar de emprego em menos de duas semanas! Vou trabalhar para a mesma empresa que o David como supervisora de quartos.. Pois e', vou regressar ao hoteis. As condicoes sao optimas, ha mais espaco para crescer, mais oportunidades e e' algo que sempre me interessou desde que trabalhei com a minha querida D. Lurdes nos Aliados. Estou bastante empolgada. O hotel e' 5 estrelas e tem quase 200 quartos, vai ser um desafio mas tenho a certeza que vai correr tudo bem :) por mim comecava ja amanha!

E agora.. uma ultima novidade!! O Andrew e a Tanya estao a espera de mais um bebe!! Parabens! Estamos muito contentes por voces e mal podemos esperar para conhecer o nosso novo sobrinho ou sobrinha.

Aproveitamos tambem a oportunidade para dar os Parabens ao Filipe e a Marta pelo nascimento da Violeta! Ela e' linda.

Com tantos bebes a nascer e outros a caminho so da vontade fazer o nosso! Ah Ah.. Ja faltou mais :)

Hello everyone,

Here in Port Douglas everything is good. Andrew, Tanya & Tara came up here on holidays. It was great to catch up.

In the meantime, I've been very busy. Next week I'm getting braces. I really need it, my teeth are getting worse due to my wisdom teeth and also due to my jaw being covered in arthritis. Last week I had to get a tooth out to create a bit of space and also to allow my last wisdom tooth to break off. I'll have braces for at least 2 years, clear on top and metal on bottom! I've been very anxious. Worried about the 2 years coming but very excited about the final result :)

But I have more news. I'm starting a new job in less than 2 weeks. I'll be working for the same company as David as a Housekeeping Supervisor. Yeah.. I'm back into hotels! Great conditions, more room to grow, more opportunities and it is something that I've always enjoyed since I worked with my dear friend D. Lurdes in Aliados, Porto. I'm very excited! The hotel is 5 stars and has nearly 200 rooms, it's going to be a challenge but I'm sure everything is going to be alright :) I'd start tomorrow if I could.

And now.. Last but certainly not least, Andrew & Tanya have another baby on the way! Congratulations! We are so happy for you and can't wait to meet our new nephew or niece!

We'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate Filipe & Marta (back home) for the arrival of Violeta! She's beautiful.

With so many babies on the way it feels like we should be making our own soon.. It will be sooner rather than later :)

Not much to add since last time. Our car was the best purchase ever and we've been driving it to Cairns quite a bit :) Andrew, Tanya & Tara are coming up next month! Can't wait to see the little one! Everything else is pretty much the same. Lots of love and sunshine everyday; Life is good in the tropics! Hope you're all well.

Nao temos muito a acrescentar desde a ultima vez. O nosso carro foi a melhor compra de sempre e temos ido a Cairns bastante :) O Andrew, Tanya & Tara vem ca para o mes que vem! Mal posso esperar para ver a pequenina! Tudo o resto esta na mesma. Muito amor e o sol a brilhar todos os dias; Boa vida nos tropicos! Esperamos que estejam todos bem.

De regresso a Port Douglas! Back in Port Douglas!

Ja estamos de volta ha mais de um mes. A vida voltou ao normal.. Trabalho, casa; casa, trabalho. O David tem andado muito ocupado com a nova posicao no trabalho e eu tenho trabalhado e feito umas grandes arrumacoes aqui em casa. Entretanto compramos um carro, um Opel Astra :) conduz-se que e' uma maravilha e agora temos mais liberdade do que nunca. Nao sei como vivemos quase 2 anos sem carro. Acho que o facto de vivermos numa vila com apenas 3.ooo habitantes e completamente plana ajudou. Quando chegamos de Portugal o David foi a Sydney visitar a familia por 3 ou 4 dias. Agora chegou a vez de eles nos visitarem a nos, o John, irmao mais velho esta ca a passar uns dias e o Andrew vem ca passar uma semana com a familia dele no final de Setembro, so faltam os pais do David e a irma Margaret.

E e' tudo por agora. Se houver novidades a gente vai escrevendo. Beijinhos a todos!

We've been back for over a month. Life is back to normal. Work, home; home, work. David has been really busy at work with his new position and I've been working as per usual and doing some Spring cleaning. In the meantime we bought a new car, Holden Astra :) it's really nice to drive and now we have more freedom than ever. I don't know how we lived here for two years without a car. I think the fact that there's only 3.000 people in town and it's all flat really helped. When we came back from Portugal David went down to Sydney to visit his family for 3 or 4 days. Now it's their turn to come visit us, John, the eldest brother is here spending a few days and Andrew and his family are coming up during the last week of September. Now we're only missing David's parents and his sister Margaret.

We're on holidays!!!!!!

Estamos de ferias!!!!!!

4 dias! 4 days!

Practicamente ja fizemos as malas :) saimos daqui de Port Douglas na 2a feira. Vamos jantar fora com um grupo de amigos em Palm Cove e ficamos la a dormir para estarmos mais perto do aeroporto de manha. O nosso voo sai de Cairns as 10.00! Estive a fazer as contas e sao mais ou menos 26.5 horas de aviao mais as paragens pelo meio!! Esta quase!! Quem estara no aeroporto a nossa espera?!

We are pretty much packed :) We leave Port Douglas on Monday, go out for dinner with a group of friends in Palm Cove and stay there overnight; that way we're closer to the airport in the morning. Our flight leaves Cairns at 10.00! I was checking before and it's about 26.5 hours flying plus stopovers! So close!! Who will be at the airport waiting for us?!

6 dias!!!! 6 days!!!!

6 dias.. ja comecamos a fazer as malas.. mais 3 dias de trabalho e estamos de ferias!!

6 days.. we've started packing already.. 3 more days at work and we're on holidays!!

Eu sei que ja nao escrevemos aqui ha algum tempo, da logo para ver quando os visitantes comecam a vir ao blog todos os dias a espera de mais novidades.. Aqui vai:

Aconteceram tantas coisas desde a ultima vez que escrevemos aqui no blog! Ja so faltam 12 dias para o inicio da nossa viagem a Portugal :) os amigos do David vieram ca passar o tal fim de semana, o David, o Andrew e a Tara fizeram anos, temos estado ocupados a fazer os ultimos preparativos para a viagem, ja temos a nossa nova maquina fotografica que tira as melhores fotografias que alguma vez vi.. ja so temos 8 dias de trabalho cada um e depois e' so FESTA!!! :) Entretanto marcamos 2 dias no Algarve para eu poder ver a minha Tia Mira que ja nao vejo ha anos, vamos na Ryanair.. tao barato.. muito mais do que ir de carro e pagar portagens e gasolina! Tal como eu disse antes, temos tantos planos!! Estou cheia de saudades, ja falta pouco!! :) bjnhs

So many things have happened since the last time we wrote here! It's now 12 days until the start of our trip to Portugal :) David's mates came up here for the boys weekend, David, Andrew and Tara celebrated their birthdays, we've been busy organising a few last minute details, we've got our new camera that takes the best pictures that I've ever seen.. there's only 8 days of work left and then it's PARTY time!!! :) In the meantime we booked a couple of days in the Algarve to visit my auntie Mira that I haven't seen in years, we're flying Ryanair.. so cheap.. it would be a lot more expensive to drive a car and pay for petrol and tolls! Like I said before, we have so many plans!! I miss you, we're nearly there!! :) Lots of love!

Ps - A semana passada fomos a um almoco com demonstracao do famoso chefe Manu Feildel.. wow!! Foi fantastico!

Parece que o vulcao acalmou :) Estavamos a ficar um bocados nervosos :) Ja faltam menos de 40 dias..

Hoje tivemos um visitante na Ucrania.. este blog esta a dar a volta ao Mundo! Fantastico!!

45 dias.. Ja falta tao pouco.. temos pensado e falado em Portugal todos os dias! Temos tudo planeado.. Uns dias em Paris, o casamento da Claudia e do Joao, Golfe na Estela, os jogos do Mundial, as jantaradas com a familia e os cafezinhos com os amigos.. o primeiro cafe no aeroporto!! Mal podemos esperar.. :) Para a semana vamos comprar uma maquina fotografica para registarmos todos os momentos da nossa visita! Quero as melhores fotografias aqui na parede da sala ao lado das outras que ja la estao :)

45 days.. So close.. we've been thinking and talking about Portugal every single day! We've got everything planned.. A few days in Paris, Claudia & Joao's wedding, Golf day at Estela, World Cup games, big dinners with the family and catching up with friends.. the first expresso at the airport!! We can't wait.. :) Next week we're buying a new camera to catch all the moments of the trip! I want the best pictures on the wall next to the ones we've already put up there :)

Ja estamos de regresso. Uma semana em Sydney passou rapido mas deu tempo para fazermos montes de coisas. Na primeira noite fomos ao clube e eu ganhei 500 dollars na roleta. Nada mau para comecar as ferias. Todos os dias nos mantivemos ocupados a fazer coisas diferentes. Matamos saudades da familia, fomos jantar ao restaurante portugues do costume com os nossos amigos, fomos ver os amigos do David jogar as meias-finais de cricket, fomos aos festival portugues em Petersham.. que maravilha.. comi umas sardinhinhas que estavam uma maravilha (foi a primeira vez que comi sardinhas na Australia!), fizemos compras, fomos ver um jogo dos Wests Tigers (ganhamos), o David passou um bocado de tempo com o Will e tentamos ensinar a Tara a dizer "Tia Ana" e "Uncle David" :)

Foi uma semana em passada! Tiramos algumas fotos.. esperamos que gostem!

Agora sim e' a contagem decrescente para Portugal. Faltam 70 dias!

We're back. A week in Sydney flew by but we had enough time to do lots of things. On our fisrt night we went down to the club and I won 500 dollars playing roulette. Not bad at all for a start. Every day we tried to do something different. Caught up with the family, went to the usual portuguese restaurant with our friends, went to watch the boys play the cricket semi-finals, went to the portuguese festival in Petersham.. it was great.. I had the best sardines (it was the first time I had sardines in Australia!), went shopping, went to watch the Tigers win, David spent some time with Will and we tried to teach Tara how to say "Tia Ana" and "Uncle David" :)

It was a good week! We took a couple of pictures.. hope you like them!

And now it's the countdown for Portugal. 70 days to go!
