36 weeks! 36 semanas!

Fizemos ontem 36 semanas, o tempo passa a voar. Estas ultimas semanas tem sido um bocado dificeis com as dores nas costas mas vai-se aguentando, que remedio! O Jack continua em posicao de lancamento expresso e eu acho que ele vai acabar por vir mais cedo do que o previsto! O quartinho dele esta pronto e as nossas malas estao practicamente feitas, agora e' so esperar! O meus sogros, cunhados e um casal amigo ja marcaram viagem para vir conhecer o Jack na primeira semana de Novembro e a minha mae chega no dia 14 de Outubro para dar uma forcinha :) Esta quase, quase!

We've completed 36 weeks yesterday, time's flying. These last few weeks have been a little challenging because of the backpain but there's nothing i can do about it! Jack is still head first and 3/5ths engaged and I really think he'll come early! His bedroom is ready and so are our bags to take to hospital, all we've got to do is wait! My in laws and some friends have already booked to come and meet Jack in the first week of November and mum arrives on the 14th of October to give me some support :) We're nearly there!!

Ola a todos!

Acabamos de chegar da nossa consulta de rotina e esta tudo bem, o Jack continua de cabeca para baixo e o David ate sentiu a cabeca e tudo. Agora ja sabemos como identificar a posicao dele e distinguir os murros dos pontapes :) Faz hoje uma semana que deixei de trabalhar e agora passo a maioria do tempo a descansar que bem preciso! Nao tenho mais novidades! Espero que estejam todos bem.

Hi everyone!

We just got home from the doctor! Jack is still head first and everything is good, David got to feel his head and now that we know his position better, we can finally differentiate kicks and punches :) I stopped working a week ago and now spend most my time resting (well deserved rest!) I haven't really got anything else to tell you! Hope everyone is well.

Pregnancy brain! Memoria de gravida!

I forgot to mention 2 VERY important things:

1st: John was here last week and we had a very good time together. Went out for dinner 3 times and it was great to catch up! Can't wait to have the rest of the family here in October!

2nd: One of the nights last week I thought we were going out for dinner with friends and when we got there all my friends from Quicky were there for a surprise baby shower. I was speechless for about 30 minutes. I'm not used to surprises, particularly not in Australia! It was great to see them all, play games, talk babies and feel special! Thank you Dani for organising it and thank you girls so much for coming along a celebrating with me! Love you all** I don't know how David kept such a secret for such a long time! I loved it!

Esqueci-me de dizer 2 coisas MUITO importantes:

1o: O John (irmao mais velho do David) esteve ca a semana passada. Fomos jantar fora 3 vezes e foi optimo ve-lo! Mal podemos esperar para ver o resto da familia em Outubro!

2o: Uma das noites a semana passada eu pensei que iamos jantar fora com uns amigos e quando chegamos la, todas as minhas amigas dos barcos estavam la para um cha de bebe surpresa. Fiquei sem palavras por mais de meia hora. Nao estou habituada a surpresas, muito menos na Australia! Adorei ve-las a todas, jogar joguinhos, falar de bebes e senti-me muito especial! Um obrigada muito especial a Dani que organizou tudo e obrigada e todas as que vieram celebrar comigo! Adoro-vos** Nao sei como o David manteve tal segredo durante tanto tempo! Adorei!

29 weeks today! Fazemos hoje 29 semanas!

Hi all,

All good here in Port Douglas. Last week we went to the doctor and she reckons Jack is head down already.. Can't wait to come out little bub!! And we can't wait to meet him!! His bedroom is nearly ready with only a rug and linen for the cot missing :) as of this week I'm only working 3 days! A very welcome change I must admit.. Work has been pretty stressful during this busy season with lots of changes happening and my legs, back and brain aren't keeping up with it! This week we're also starting the antenatal classes; should be good, I have lots of questions!! David is also doing well and excited. He loves talking to Jack every night before we go to sleep.. and Jack loves listening to him, he starts kicking straight away :)

Mum is all booked in to fly to Australia. She'll arrive on October 14th, hopefully in time to meet Jack on his very first day in the world! Then she'll stay for 8 weeks lending us a very helpful hand in those first weeks :) it will be great to have her here!

Aqui em Port Douglas esta tudo bem. A semana passada fomos a medica e ela acha que o Jack ja deu a volta.. Mal pode esperar para sair! E nos para o conhecer!! O quartinho dele esta quase pronto, so falta um tapete e os atoalhados para o berco :) a partir desta semana so trabalho 3 dias e estou muito contente devo confessar.. Tem havido muitas mudancas no meu emprego durante esta epoca alta e tem sido bastante stressante. As minhas costas, pernas e cabeca nao estao a cooperar muito! Tambem vamos comecar as aulas de preparacao para o parto esta semana. Ainda bem, tenho muitas duvidas para esclarecer!!

O David tambem esta bem e muito contente. Ele adora falar com o Jack todas as noites antes de irmos dormir e o Jack adora ouvi-lo porque comeca logo aos pontapes :)

A minha mae ja tem os voos marcados e chega aqui no dia 14 de Outubro, esperamos que a tempo de conhecer o Jack no dia que ele vier ao mundo! Ela vai ficar aqui 8 semanas e dar-nos uma ajuda preciosa naquelas primeiras semanas :) Vai ser espectacular!

28 weeks and 1 day! 28 semanas e 1 dia!

26 1/2 weeks! 26 semanas e meia!

Temos andado muito ocupados. O David comecou a montar o quarto do Jack a semana passada e ja so faltam uns pormenores, quando estiver pronto mostro-vos. A entrevista no infantario correu bem e o Jack ja esta na lista de espera para Abril do ano que vem! As minhas contraccoes (falsas) comecaram ha coisa de 10 dias e sao muito levezinhas! Na segunda feira fomos a uma consulta de rotina com uma enfermeira-parteira e esta tudo bem com o Jack :) Vejam as fotos que tiramos esta semana:

We've been really busy. David started setting up Jack's bedroom last week and there's only a few little things missing, we'll show when ready. The interview at the childcare center went really well and Jack is already in the waiting list for April next year! My Braxton Hicks started 10 days ago but they're really light for now! On Monday we went to the midwife's appointment and everything is well with Jack :) Have a look at the photos we took this week:

25 1/2 weeks!

E' bom ter o maridao de volta! Senti muitas saudades :) Hoje vou fazer analises e depois vamos ver um infantario para o Jack.. bem sei que parece cedo mas aconselharam-nos a faze-lo ja porque este tem lista de espera!! De resto nao ha novidades!

It's great to have my husband back! I missed him a lot :) Today I have some blood tests to be done and then we have an interview at Jack's future child care center (we hope).. it seems to be quite early but this one apparently has a waiting list so we were advised to do it early!! Nothing else to say!

De regresso a casa. Back home.

Ja regressamos das nossas mini-ferias em Sydney ha uma semana. Adoramos ver a familia e conhecer a Brooke. Ela e' um amor. Perfeitinha!

Aqui em Port as coisas estao todas a rolar. Esta semana fomos ao medico discutir os planos para o parto e fazer mais uns exames. O Jack esta grande, ja pesa 700gr :) A partir desta semana so trabalho 4 dias em vez de 5... estava mesmo a precisar, ando muito cansada e as dores nas costas, as vezes, sao insuportaveis!

Parece que quando o Jack vamos ter visitas! A minha mama (oxala chegue a tempo de o ver nascer!), os pais do David, o Andrew e possivelmente a irma e um casal amigo (Robbo & Megan) ja estao confirmados. A Martinha tambem deve ca vir directamente de Shanghai e, quem sabe, mais uma surpresa ou duas! Infelizmente nao ha lugar para todos ca em casa, a nao ser que queiram dormir com o Jack no berco, mas o que nao falta aqui a volta sao hoteis!

Esta semana vamos comecar a montar o quartinho, ainda falta muita coisa mas mal podemos esperar para ver como vai ficar no final! Depois ponho fotos!

Hi everyone!
We've been back from Sydney for a week now. It was great to see the whole family and meet Brooke. She's lovely. Just perfect!
Here in Port all is well. We went to the doctor this week to discuss birth plans and have a couple more exams done. Jack is a big boy weighing already 700gr :) I'm now working 4 days instead of 5... a very welcome change, I've been feeling very tired and the back pain is, sometimes, unbearable!
It looks that we'll have a lot of visitors when Jack's born! My mum (hopefully she'll make in time for the birth), David's parents and maybe Margaret , Andrew and Robbo's family are confirmed. Marta (my cousin) should also visit from Shanghai and maybe we'll have a couple of surprise visitors! Unfortunately we can't accommodate everyone unless you want to sleep with little Jack in his cot but there's plenty of hotels around here!
We're planning on setting up bubs bedroom this week; we're missing a lot of stuff but it will be nice to see it coming together slowly! We'll show you photos later!
